Bruce Weissgold

Bruce worked in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) Management Authority for 25 years at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He started his career with the Service in intelligence, focusing on undercover international reptile smuggling investigations. Previously he worked for TRAFFIC, WWF-US, and the Department of State, as well as volunteered at the National Zoo’s reptile house. Bruce holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts and the University of Virginia. He lives in northern Virginia but keeps a little cottage among the iguanas of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
